Went to Recife on July 2008 and was so impressed with the manliness of the locals I decide to try my luck in the four running bathhouses in town. Since I prefer the regular Joe, straight acting, over-30, overweight type, I started with 111 on a weekend afternoon and on a weekday after work. Both were huge disappointments. The place seems to hang together by a thread, rent-boys are so young it makes you want to run away so you wont be mistaken as a pedophile and the ones that look of legal age and handsome also look famished, like most rent boys in Brazil. But above all you can break through the shyness of the locals and the fact that they confuse a bathhouse with a social club. There was no fun in the champagne room, or anywhere else for that matter the two times I was there. You can practice your Portuguese at the bar, though. Dont waste your time.

I do not recommed this sauna to anyone. Unfriendly and unprofessional staff.
The sauna is full of rent boys, tranfunuals and not the kind of place I would expect at a gay sauna. I went there once and I spent around 30 min. The place looks not finished, with lots of construction materials, even though it's been opened for many years.
A 2 out of 10...dirty. The area is not safe to walk alone at night.
Buttom line: Going there is a waste of time and money!
